Ethnogeriatrics is a field of study which provides ethnic specific care and which recognizes the impact of our native land, language, religion and culture in our golden years. In fact, there's a phenomenon called ‘language reversion’, discovered by Michael Clyne, where the aging population/elderly migrants begin to forget the second language, (the dominant language of their adopted land), and to ‘revert’ to their native language(the language of their motherland). In the course of Clyne's study, he found evidence for second language attrition and first language reversion among his elderly informants (Clyne, 1981).
Keeping these studies and research in mind, it makes sense to consider retirement on a part time or full time basis in India.
